We were excited to be the first ones to stay at the newly listed property but were a bit surprised to see an array of workmen still finishing off the outside area when we arrived ! (surely it should have been fully completed before even listing the propery ?) The propery itself is amazing, although we hardly used the living areas as the weather was so good we sat outside every day. The wood fired hot tub took a bit of getting used to and we only used it it couple of times, (no logs were left originally and eventually a supply turned up 2 days later.) To be honest we decided we prefer the convenience of an electric one, instantly ready and a reliable temperature. I also missed the bubbles ! The grounds were lovely and lots of rabbits to be seen early morning/evening . We were also lucky enough to see an owl whilst bat watching. The only downside was as said, no logs for hot tub on arrival . Also no washing up liquid or dish washer tablets were supplied or cleaning products especially to wipe down the outside furniture every morning. Being a light sleeper, the noise of the boiler which was next to the bedroom, seemed lould when automaically turning on at regular intervals during the night, but that is just me . A nice welcome basket was supplied and the strawberries on the fridge were delicious ! All in all we had a lovely stay at the Dovecote and would highly recommend it.
