A beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. Very helpful owners, who are unobtrusive. The lane to the cottage is quite difficult to navigate and is extremely narrow with blind bends. All ok until you meet an oncoming tractor.

Higher Westwater farmhouse is spacious, immaculate and situated right out in the countryside on the River Yarty with some lovely local walks. Axminster is close by. Accessing it is a little challenging: there is a drive of about 1.5 miles through very narrow windy lanes that had some severe potholes at the time of our visit, as well as many stones and much mud from the eroded banks. Meeting oncoming traffic here was always a worry. But the house itself and the location were just fantastic. I've never stayed in a self-catering venue with such generous and high-quality fittings, furniture, cutlery etc. and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. It felt like a 'high-class' holiday. I would recommend the walk up the river to the Beckford bridge, as well as an evening meal in the Tuckers Arms in nearby Dalwood.
