This beautifully presented holiday property is the perfect location for a family gathering or a group of friends, with a glorious garden surrounding.

What a charmer! Even as you roll up a long drive and come to a stop in the courtyard, you’re hit by a pleasant sight – light blue window frames, slate roofing and red roses cling to the front face of the house, as the smell of lavender fills your nostrils.

In the spacious living room, soft armchairs and settees strewn with plump cushions conjugate in a social setup around the roaring wood burner, whilst chunky wooden beams brace the high vaulted ceiling overhead. An Aga-fitted, farmhouse-style kitchen features stained-glass hobbit windows, granite worktops and a marvellous antique dining table as the room’s centrepiece, and there’s also a splendid dining room for more formal occasions, boasting all the china, glassware and linen necessary to make the meal one to remember. A bright turquoise-tiled bathroom awaits you upstairs with a bubbly roll-top bath, and the super-sized beds covered with cosy throws and quality bedding will see you in blissful slumber right through till late morning.

The walled garden is to die for: ¾-acre packed with grassy lawns and walkways, pond and plants of all shapes and sizes. Views from the seating area look far and wide over the rolling Devon hills. Light the chiminea and put some corn on the cob over the barbecue to make the most of the delightful garden and the view. Perhaps best of all for mum and dad is that there’s a large games room to keep the kids occupied, fully-equipped with table football, beanbags, a piano and a pool table, leaving you free to do as you please in the evenings. It’s the thoughtful touches the owner has provided to make your holiday extra special, such as fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, as well as an extensive welcome pack for both you and your dog.

The property is set near the small town of Colyton within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The East Devon Way is just a stone’s throw from the front door, and with such easy access to the Blackdown Hills in one direction and the south coast in the other, there’s a large variety of stunning natural landscapes that’s just waiting to be explored.

Lovely clean, comfortable and welcoming holiday home with beautiful garden and country views. Weather was great so we used the barbecue and enjoyed relaxing and eating outside. Very well equipped with many thoughtful extras which were much appreciated. Very rural setting, so there was a short drive to stunning coastal area and also a short drive to shops, pubs etc ( walking/ running enthusiasts among us could take routes along the East Devon Way) We all enjoyed the games room, and the generous welcome basket. There was plenty of room for 9 adults to spread out, or convene. The single room was at the top of its own stair case: no door, to the room, but still private. Our host Clare checked that we had everything we needed. Great holiday, thank you!!

We were a party of 8, covering 4 generations. Everyone was comfortable and had privacy. The garden is beautiful and we spent much of our time at the house on the terrace. If the weather had been bad there is ample space inside the house to accommodate everyone during the day. The house is on a very narrow lane, patience and care is needed when driving. We found plenty of things to keep everyone busy in the area between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis.

An absolutely fabulous property with an exquisite garden set in a beautiful location. Very peaceful and relaxing. Facilities were amazing too with five star quality equipment and the owners made us feel very welcome with a very good welcome basket. Couldn’t fault anything about this property. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Couldn't have been happier. Almost don't want to put such a glowing review to ensure it's free this time next year! The little touches were great, we felt like everything was above and beyond. Very nice place.

We had a superb stay at The Old Coach House. It is equipped to an exceptionally high standard and we felt completely at home. It was in the run up to Christmas so was even nicer to have beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere too.
