This lovely barn conversion offers character and contemporary interiors while being an ideal base for exploring the local countryside.

Located in the quiet hamlet of Patchole, these converted detached holiday barns (HSSW and HRRG), offer a combination of both character and contemporary design. Spacious accommodation goes hand in hand with very good facilities and all the modern conveniences guests may require during their stay. Both barns overlook the courtyard of the owner’s farmhouse with sitting-out areas. Patchole is set in the heart of the North Devon countryside and is well suited for exploring this area. At Croyde and Woolacombe, some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country can be found, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Barnstaple, the regional town, offers a range of shops. Shop 1 mile, pub 2 miles.

Open-plan living room with sofa bed (alternative sleeping only)/dining room with slate floor and kitchen area. Double bedroom with 5ft bed and TV. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Spacious sitting room with sofa bed (alternative sleeping only), beams and wooden floor. Double bedroom with 6ft zip & link bed (can be twin beds on request), TV and en-suite shower with toilet.

This barn conversion offers an excellent standard of accommodation. Clean and comfortable, with high spec fixtures and fittings. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Very good location with the north Devon coast a short drive away. We had a great holiday and would recommend!

Greeting on arrival was poor. Outside space was small and overlooked by other letting and owners house. Parking was away from house.Downstairs bathroom needed Two Grab Rails in bath/shower for safety. Needs shelf over sink.Needs hooks on door to hang clothes. Stairs slippery need stair treads.Bedroom door catches on floor unable to open very far.We have had much better. No Clothes Dryer on machine. I dd not think the owner cared too much if he did he did not show it.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review. I’m sorry you felt your greeting was poor, we did come to meet you however things seemed a little fraught so after turning up the heating at your request, and offering extra bedding due to sleeping arrangements we left you to settle in. The parking is only 75 yards from the cottage, however, if we had realised you had mobility issues, or even if you had asked, you would have been welcome to park directly outside the cottage. We do not have grab rails in the bathroom. There are 2 recesses in the wall by the bath for toiletries etc. There is also a large towel rail suitable for draping clothing over if needed. The stairs are wooden and we have never had any problems with them before. There is a clothes horse provided for drying washing outside and a double radiator next to the washing machine if the weather is poor. We are sorry you felt we did not care especially after when you had a problem (the blind came off & the kitchen window wouldn’t open) we came immediately to rectify the situation.
