Westover Cottage was a very comfortable and well-equipped base for our holiday. We certainly hope to return!

For us the cottage was too small, especially the kitchen. The two of us had difficulties and I think it would not take four with comfort. The tap water was heavily chlorinated so a cup of tea tasted dreadful. We came home early so I am not able to give a full review of the surrounding area.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments on your recent short stay at Westover cottage for which we appreciate all feedback. Firstly I would like to say how sorry we were to hear of your disappointment with the property. It is a shame that you only stayed 1 night (Friday 12th October) out of your 7 night booking and that you did not contact me on arrival to alert me to any issues that could have been resolved. It was only on Monday 15th October that you contacted Cottages.com to let them know you had left. You refer to the cottage as being too small for your comfort for your party of 2, it is indeed cosy and is described as such on the website. The kitchen is compact and again the description and photographs clearly indicate this. We have had many groups of 4 guests at the property over many years so were somewhat surprised your party of two struggled. Both bedrooms are of a good size, as too is the living room and bathroom. We were sorry to hear of the problem with the drinking water and the taste of chlorine. The cleaner has checked the water and has informed me that she could not taste chlorine following your departure. However we had just installed a new kettle when you arrived and sometimes the mixture of new plastic does not always mix well with water so apologies for this as I completely agree the taste of chlorine is not pleasant. A good flushing and boiling of the kettle appears to have solved the problem you had. Once again so sorry you did not enjoy your short visit - we very much value your comments.
