There’s much to say about Granary Cottage as holiday accommodation that lends itself to a broad and diverse range of holidaymakers. Take for instance its central heating – powered by renewable energy with underfloor heating throughout, Granary Cottage is ideal for eco-friendly visitors who like to limit their carbon footprint. The property itself was transformed by the owners into a luxury holiday home from an 18th century barn, and its traditional features can be spotted throughout (history buffs - take note). Then there’s the luxury interiors and furnishings (stay-at-home visitors, it’s all taken care of!), the enclosed garden (ideal for dog owners and families), the patio offers the perfect spot for al-fresco dining with friends, and for large get-togethers, there’s a spacious open-plan living/dining room/kitchen to enjoy a chinwag with a drink. Granary Cottage can be booked together with the adjoining property (ref. IUW and there’s an interconnecting door) to accommodate up to 13 guests at once! The property boasts its own bike store and washing facilities, and keen cyclists will know that the nearby North York Moors National Park is an intricate network of winding country lanes and downhill single tracks suitable for all abilities. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is characterised by heather-clad moorland, so for those who seek solace in the great outdoors, the stillness and tranquillity of the moors is disturbed only by the bleats of a solitary Swaledale, or the flapping of wings as a grouse takes to the air.Children will be spoilt for choice on holiday in Granary Cottage – do we go to Flamingo Land? Eden Camp? The Yorkshire Heritage Coast? Or do we head to the legendary Jorvik Viking Museum in the centre of historic York? Surely, a closer look at the ancient Scandinavian sea-raiders is too good to miss. Upon your return to Granary Cottage, you can hang up your raincoats and boots in the drying room, turn on the TV and collapse into the arms of comfort and warmth beside the wood burner.
Open plan living room with gas woodburner, oak floor and well-equipped kitchen with dining area, French doors and tiled floor. Separate toilet. First floor: Three double bedrooms, each with 6ft zip & link bed, two with shared en-suite shower room and toilet, one with TV. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.
Note: Granary Cottage (IUV) and Rose Cottage (IUW) can be booked together to sleep up to 12 people and have an inter-connecting door.
