A spotless, very well maintained property. Comfortable, well equipped with hosts who were very welcoming, helpful and kind with little extras thrown in. Everything you could ask for in a holiday home. Ideal as a quiet, countryside retreat with open outlooks on fields and woods. Everyone had a restful week.

as usual we had a lovely stay at woodside barn. we were dubious in light of covid 19 but we were glad we made the decision to go. as always we received a warm welcome from jeannie and anne. the barn is always kept beautifully clean, regardless of covid, and we were not disappointed. obviously various items like hairdryers could not be provided but we were fully aware of this before our trip and thus, wasn't an issue. the beds are all clean and comfy and showers lovely and hot with no queuing as there are plenty to choose. the garden is secure for dogs and we made full use of it on our stay as it is so peaceful. there are plenty of walks to be had around the property but if you want to venture further afield there are plenty of places to visit - snape maltings, aldborough, thorpeness, southwold, halesworth and so on. the local pub, the old chequers, is also worth a visit and it is an easy stroll from the barn. we have booked again for next year!

great barn in a great location if you like walking, equally good for getting to other points of interest in the area. aldburgh, southwold, woodbridge, thorpeness and snape are all great places to visit. the barn itself is warm and cosy in the colder months but has a dog friendly garden which is so peaceful in the finer months. it is beautifully clean and it fully equipped with what you might need while on holiday. the local pub is a short walk which serves good food. we always enjoy our visits as it allows us to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Jeanie and anne are great hosts and you are welcomed but they are not intrusive at all. a bottle of fizz and a home made cake is always waiting for you on arrival.

Our second visit here and just as enjoyable as the first. Jeannie and Anne are very helpful and friendly and there was a delicious cake and bottle of fizz waiting for us. Friston is a very small village but Saxmundham is near and has Tesco and Waitrose. Aldeburgh, on the coast, is near as well and you can get delicious gelato there. If you want fun fairs etc this is probably not for you but for a peaceful, relaxing holiday it is perfect.
